UI (user interface) design will be in high demand and a requirement of designers in the web design industry. With more people using webs applications like those on eBay or AJAX forms to get a new mortgage, this sector of the industry will definately increase during 2009.

Online Video

Video on the web has been around for years, but with the popularity of YouTube and alike website owners will see the viral and B2B advantages this year. Rather than clients getting video made, encoded and embedded onto their website - clients will want to do all of this themselves. With software readily available to encode video for the web (i.e. Flash FLV's) and the ability to upload/embed into their website via CMS's (content management systems), this will be easy to implement.

Mobile Internet

Bring on the iPhone - what an absolutley cool gadget. With this and other superb mobile phones (the new Blueberry, etc) WAP will be on it's way out during 2009. With these new phones, viewing websites as designed for the common web browsers, will be easy & useable. bye bye WAP...
